In our current society, health is frequently mentioned, but often viewed and discussed with a certain level of disregard. Most people believe that taking care of their health simply means preventing diseases, but nothing could be further from the truth.
It's alarming how many people buy processed supermarket foods indiscriminately, focusing only on price. Even those who invest in organic and bio products fail to realize the grave danger lurking in their own kitchens. Utensils filled with toxins such as PFAS, BPA, aluminum, lead, mercury, among others, come into daily contact with our food. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Add to this the indiscriminate use of medications, without considering their long-term effects. When you try to talk about these realities, you're often met with disbelief or excuses, as if the threat isn't real.
The same is true with water. Using tap water can be harmful to our health. It's thought that collecting water directly from nature is synonymous with purity, without considering the natural contaminants that can be hazardous and present in the water. In some areas, mountain water is not adequately filtered by nature, as there are places with high levels of arsenic, and consuming such water can be devastating to health over time.
Prevention should go far beyond measures like adding chlorine to water to purify it, for example. We should create truly healthy habits that not only prevent issues but also protect our health holistically.
It’s naïve to think we can be completely exempt from consuming toxins at some point. We all breathe in a vast amount of toxic substances present in the environment, and the real danger lies in how these toxins accumulate in our bodies. We believe that as long as there’s no “visible pollution,” we are safe, but this slow and constant accumulation is what eventually makes us sick.
Toxins are everywhere: in the water, food, clothing, cosmetics. We are exposed daily to products and substances that are destroying our health, yet many of these toxic elements are socially accepted or ignored, and companies don’t care about the damage they are causing at all levels of health and society.
Our bodies have defense and detoxification systems, but these become overwhelmed, especially at the cellular level. The basic system of Pischinger, a tissue that surrounds our cells, is vital for the exchange of substances and immune responses. When this space becomes saturated with toxins, the cells begin to fail, and health problems start to arise.
The most dangerous toxins, such as heavy metals (lead, mercury) and industrial chemicals (BPA, PFAS), are not easily eliminated from the body. Instead of being expelled, they accumulate in the tissues and bones as a defense mechanism of the body. This accumulation leads to a myriad of diseases, from muscle conditions and allergies to liver, kidney, immune system disorders, hormonal and sexual dysfunctions, mental deterioration, premature aging, and degenerative diseases.
The first step is to raise awareness. This is a real and silent problem that is slowly making us sick while we continue blaming some invisible germ.
Some measures we can take:
These basic steps can have a profound impact on our health in the long term. It’s not just about avoiding diseases but protecting our quality of life. If you want more information or need personalized guidance, feel free to contact Dr. Eduardo González Coeto.
