The novel is presented as a trilogy that covers various periods of Mayan history in the Chichén Itzá area.
This story not only seeks to provide a deeper understanding of the current heirs of this ancient culture, but also reveals the persistence of ancient wisdom that, despite remaining hidden, re-emerges with force at certain times, transmitting a mystical message from the stars.
As you delve into the novel, you will be transported through time and delve into the mysteries of a culture that, although ancient, is still alive. The narrative will invite you to explore and discover the secrets that lie behind the dimensional doors of the mind, offering a unique insight into the Mayan way of life.
Although the arrogance of contemporary men may lead them to believe that they have already discovered everything about this culture, the novel suggests that they have only just torn the veil of truth that protects the Mayan ancestral knowledge. The Mayan essence is timeless, and despite the passage of time, it remains within the folds of its stones and temples, defying the belief that this culture has disappeared.
The story emphasizes that the Mayan message will never be forgotten and will only be revealed to those who truly seek to find it.
The Mayan sages, the story suggests, cannot be sought out; it is they who, from the confines of your dreams, find you. Ultimately, ancient and profound knowledge is revealed: Mayan temples house the DNA of the "star men," connecting the Mayans to a cosmic reality that transcends humanity's conventional understanding.
It all began with the natural curiosity of someone who begins to question the striking paradoxes of such an astonishing culture. The Maya, with their remarkable advances in mathematics, architecture, engineering, visual arts, jewelry, astronomy, calendars, language, writing, philosophy, religion, food, medicine, and many other achievements, seem to defy our conventional understanding.
However, this civilization also presents us with apparently contradictory aspects: bloody rituals, sacrifices of maidens and children, implacable warriors and hunters, cruelty towards the defeated and a morbid fascination with death, monstrous masks and bloody games. These paradoxes raise the suspicion that there is a cultural background that escapes our interpretation from a Western perspective, and raises the need for in-depth research to understand that its evolution was not accidental, but the result of an intrinsic development.
In the process of searching, countless mysteries arise that challenge official anthropology and force us to reconsider established concepts. The novel, by presenting these mysteries, invites the reader to explore, question and broaden their own perspective, encouraging openness to other realities.
The plot is intertwined with the experiences of the writer and his characters, raising the question of whether what they experienced is real. Given this, the answer remains open, and reading the novel can awaken the reader's interest in exploring these lands with humility and curiosity, perhaps allowing the present-day Mayans to reveal another reality.
The third story is set in the early days of the Spanish conquest, specifically in a monastery in the city of Valladolid, Yucatan, a small town near Chichen Itza. In this setting, an ancient codex emerges, revealing an intriguing and powerful enigma. This mysterious document has the potential to transform men into gods, into powerful giants, and threatens to alter the history of Catholicism and the old world.
Despite taking place in the same place, the three stories unfold at different times and in different settings, as if they were three lives in different dimensions within the same parallel reality. As they progress, these narratives converge in some way, culminating in a surprising outcome.
The plot invites readers to explore the “KinBe” in the world of the Mayab, “the path of the few.” Just as Juan found his path to the sun, the story suggests the possibility that readers may also find their own path in this intriguing literary universe.
I would like, above all, to thank the Mayan people of the Piste region, of San Felipe Pueblo and hundreds of other people who, thanks to their openness, made it possible for me to write part of their history.
The team of archaeologists and specialists who were carrying out works in the 1990s, who allowed me to get close to their research, their enthusiasm and their work deserve my respect and admiration.
To my friends from Yucatan, especially the renowned painter Mark Callaghan and his wife Yolitzma, lovers of Mayan art and culture, who stimulated my creativity and motivated me to write.
To my friends in Spain, an innumerable list of people who currently live in the Iberian Peninsula, Spanish, Argentine, and Chilean friends, without whose support and help it would have been impossible for me to put this work into circulation.
The list of people who have accompanied me on the journey to this novel would be endless and very long.
Therefore, I have decided not to mention their names, so as not to omit any and to say "Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart" I dedicate this work to all of them, I know that in some way they are also looking for their own Kinbe.
